When starting new map you are given standard tool package. 

• Pickaxe - can be used to digg any material 
• Shovel - can be used to smoothen and flatten ground
• Light - to show you way in the dark nights
• Axe - for chopping down trees
• Sledge - can be used to remove placed objects and workbenches. Removed object will return to your inventory as long as there is room 

 You can purchase faster pickaxe, shovel and sledge from Shop - Equipment - Handtools  

 Used to detonate explosives once they are placed.
